The firebombing of Dresden occurred in February 1945. The bombing was terrifying since a large amount of displaced people from the Eastern front have moved to Dresden and other western cities. The first round was regular carpet bombing but then second round was using incendiary bombs. This cause the rubble from the first round to catch fire and cause great firestorms throughout the city. Death toll from the bombing are hard to prove since the large amount of displaced people records are not accurate.

Some people believe the the firebombing was retaliation for the Blitz.
